"Vintage coffee, Ovaltine, iced coffee, but two specialty drinks are preserved lime juice and preserved kaffir lime juice." A coffee shop located at the entrance to Na Kluea old market. In the era of Khun Naiponporn Chomphunut's father, this shop was the coffee house of Na Kluea market that was open all day, with 2 shopfronts. Whether people were going to work, shopping at the market, or waiting for buses, they would sit and sip coffee while chatting at this shop. However, when Na Kluea old market began to be reorganized and started to decline, coffee shop customers gradually decreased. New coffee shops also increased to cater to tourists. Yet local residents still drop by for support in the morning when there's still a sporadic morning market.
Currently, besides beverages, the shop front also sells sweet fish sauce, both the condiment type and the type for eating with fruits like mango with sweet fish sauce.
7. Pa Bon Fish Ball
"An old-established fish ball shop that supplies many noodle shops in Na Kluea and makes various dishes - for noodles, fish ball salad, or battered and fried." A fish ball house passed down to the 2nd generation. In the past, Pa Bon made fish balls from Indo-Pacific tarpon, fish that were easy to find around Na Kluea, processed into balls by scraping, grinding, kneading, and hand-forming every step. Later, Indo-Pacific tarpon became more expensive and in higher demand. Making fish balls with pure tarpon as in the past would raise costs and selling prices beyond customer expectations. The 2nd generation heir, Khun Somchat Aisim, improved the recipe by mixing 3-4 types of fish until achieving a quality formula, and switched to household machinery in the fish ball making process. This allowed them to maintain quality, keep wholesale prices stable, and retain their customer base. The shop sells small fish balls, large fish balls, sliced fish meat, fish strips (hue kuay), and battered fried tarpon skin.
