Read More About Mackerel Boiling Factory

Mackerel Boiling Factory is located in an alley that the community commonly calls Trok Rong Pla To (Mackerel Factory Alley). In the past, this alley had over ten households making mackerel. But currently only two households remain with mackerel boiling operations. The process for making steamed mackerel still maintains the traditional recipe, which is putting fresh mackerel in baskets to boil in salt water, a method that prevents mackerel from spoiling easily.
The alley entrance still maintains the living form of wooden shophouses lining both sides of the walkway down to the pier for loading goods from the river at the end of the alley.
